Great time at the Art Against Hunger Show

A truly wonderful show for us. Winter was a trooper giving smiles to passers by and hardly fussing at all. Not bad for a 1 month old. Weather was perfect and my wife sold quite a few necklaces and earrings and I sold a painting, some sketch cards, prints and stickers. All in all quite a success. I was also painting live at the show and  below are some step by step shots and then the finished piece called Girl & Her Dragon Wagon.

Also sitting next to us was Jim Soldo and his style really amazed me. He would draw standing up with 2 different colored crayon type pencils looking down so basically upside down. The time it had to take to train yourself to do that is mind boggling I tell you. He was a lot of fun and gave my sister and I a drawing. She got a dog and I got the girl face (kinda reminds me of Pat Benetar). Go check out his web pages here (he was doing the ambidextrous drawing so check out that tab for sure)

Respect for the Dead

Respect for the dead is a new book by Lindsey Beth Goddard with some art by yours truly. It is filled with all kinds of great horror stories that are sure to please even the worst critique. I really love her writing style. Always fun and filled with great visuals for your imagination to explode like a volcano. Pick up a copy for your reading pleasure here http://www.amazon.com/dp/0615567797/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_dp_qcr0ob1PK81B7 and thanks so much supporting your local artists. Would make a great christmas gift for that horror lover that you know.

Spooky Empire Weekend & Fear Comics Book Release

Hi all,
Who is going to Spooky Empires Ultimate Horror Weekend? This year is going to be an awesome show, just look at this amazing guest list http://www.spookyempire.com/spooky-empire-celebrity-guests.html
I'm truly looking forward to meeting quite a few of them. The guest list is just a smidgen of the fun that's going to happen. Another super awesome part of the show is the release of Fear Comics put out by Fear Films http://www.fearfilm.com/site/  2 comics will be released upon the world at this show - "Realms of Blood" and "Realms of Madness". Realms of Blood is jam packed full of short horror stories and Realms of Madness is full of short stories hosted by Dr. Twistid, it's full of dark/potty comedy, horror, surreal and just plain weirdness. These books are sure to make you cringe in fear and laugh hysterically. The only thing is they won't be available for sale online just yet. The only way you can pick them up is at this show. Come out, pick up a copy, get it signed while meeting the artists and get some extra goodies. You won't be sad if you do. Hope to see you there and thanks so much for your support! Until then here is the cover for my Realms of Madness #1. Doesn't it just wet your whistle and build your appetite?

Dark Arts Artbook

Here I am with my copy of the "Dark Arts" artbook. It was put together by Nunzio Barbera and sponsored by West Shore Gallery, Inc. and Sunbury Press, Inc. It's a collection of works chosen from the 2011 Dark Surrealists Fine Art Competition. 7 of my works were accepted which made me super excited. It's usually hard enough just getting 1 picture chosen let alone 7. I really like this book. It has some great artists in it with subject matter that I really enjoy. If your into dark surreal art then check this bad boy out. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Go here to get your copy before they are all gone.

Oogie Boogie Painting

I found a piece of wood while walking the dogs that looked like Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas so I painted him on it at the craft show I was at this weekend.
